Which Brompton Is Right for You: C Line, P Line or T Line
Three lines, one iconic fold. Here's how the C Line, P Line and T Line differ - and which one suits your ride.
Every Brompton folds to the same compact size and shares the same 50 years of engineering. The difference between the lines is materials, weight and gearing - which changes how the bike feels to carry and to ride.
The C Line is the original: a precision-drawn, heat-treated steel frame, brazed and assembled by hand in London. It is the best-value way into Brompton ownership, available as a 4-speed for flat-to-moderate city riding or a 12-speed with a 402% gear range for hillier routes and longer distances. From around 11.3kg.
The P Line moves to a titanium rear frame and fork with a one-piece carbon front fork, dropping the weight to under 10kg while smoothing out the ride. If you carry your bike up stairs or onto trains every day, the weight saving is felt immediately. It runs a 4-speed hub gear.
The T Line is the flagship: a Grade 9 titanium frame with carbon fork, handlebars, crankset and saddle throughout, from around 7.95kg - the lightest geared folding bike in the world. It is for riders who want the absolute lightest fold and are happy to pay for it.
